Academy Hosting ‘The Last 70mm Film Festival’ in LA This Summer
Another summer screening series from AMPAS, aka The Academy, and this time it’s not outdoors, but something else spectacular. They’re hosting a series dubbed “The Last 70mm Film Festival” (meaning no more 70mm after? oh no!) that will feature six screenings of 70mm classics, usually with a cast reunion or rarely screened 70mm shorts. The line-up includes Stanley Kramer’s It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World to open, plus classics like Sleeping Beauty, Sound of Music and, of course, Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
