Danny Boyle to Direct James Bond Short Film to Open 2012 Olympics

Since the worldwide success of 2008’s Best Picture Winner Slumdog Millionaire, all eyes have been on director Danny Boyle to see what he would do next. In 2010, he directed James Franco in the excellent 127 Hours, and in 2011 he transitioned from film to stage, overseeing the production of Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller at the Royal National Theatre in London. Boyle will next direct the 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, and The Sun has details about the short film that will begin the ceremony – namely, that it will feature the world’s favorite secret agent, James Bond.
