George Nolfi, F. Gary Gray & More Shortlisted for ‘Captain America 2’

With the big screen debut of The Avengers just over a month away (aside from a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month), it’s already time to start thinking about superhero sequels afterwards. While a sequel to the superhero ensemble is likely a couple years away, the summer of 2013 will bring us more action from Iron Man 3 and Thor 2. Now another Avengers team member is getting his sequel lined up in Captain America 2 as Vulture has a director shortlist including George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) and “Community” duo Anthony and Joseph Russo. Wait, what? That’s right, the Emmy winning brothers behind episodes of “Community” along with “Arrested Development” and “Happy Endings” are being considered to direct the Captain America sequel. Apparently in meeting with Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President of Production, they just jived really well together in the room. …
