Sony Pictures Revamping ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ for Big Screen

Most audiences may remember Sabrina the Teenage Witch as that TV series starring Clarissa Melissa Joan Hart on ABC, but the character actually comes from the classic Archie comics from the 60’s. And like all other comic books from the past and present, it sounds like it’s headed to the big screen. Deadline reports Sony Pictures is developing a live-action origin story for the teenage witch in the same vein as Spider-Man, with a young girl coming to terms with her supernatural powers and gifts. This isn’t going to be the same sweet take we saw on TV, and I’m betting it’s more along the lines of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Real Steel producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford are behind the picture as producers, and considering it was director Mark Waters’ (Mean Girls) who worked on their presentation which got Sony on board with the project, he might end up directing the …
