Universal and Illumination Plan ‘Despicable Me’ Spin-Off for Minions

A sequel to the animated hit Despicable Me from Universal and Illumination Entertainment is coming next summer, but the plan for another movie is already in the works. However, rather than being just another sequel, Deadline has word that a spin-off featuring only The Minions, the gibberish speaking, yellow-suited creatures who work for the villainous Gru (Steve Carell), is in development as the fifth feature film from illumination that is looking to be released sometime in 2014.
