“Home Alone” Turns 35: Macaulay Culkin to Host Anniversary Screenings
This holiday season marks the 35th anniversary of Home Alone, the beloved 1990 classic that turned a mischievous Chicago kid into a global icon. Directed by Chris Columbus and penned by the legendary writer John Hughes, the film became an instant Christmas staple, grossing nearly $500 Million to date! With a blend of slapstick comedy, heartfelt family moments, and unforgettable one-liners from then 10-year-old Macaulay Culkin, Home Alone is one of the truly iconic and most beloved films of a generation.
To celebrate the milestone, Culkin has announced he’ll be hosting a special series of anniversary screenings across select U.S. theaters and venues in November and December. Many of these events will include Q&A sessions, behind-the-scenes stories, and more. Fans can relive the movie’s magic on the big screen once again, from the booby-trapped burglars to Kevin’s iconic aftershave scream. Gathering together for these screenings are looking to prove that now, even 35 years later, Home Alone is still the ultimate holiday movie that reminds us there’s no place like home for Christmas.
