Aaron Sims’ Sci-Fi Short ‘Archetype’ Now Being Made Into a Feature
Remember that impressive sci-fi short involving a massive sentient robot that we featured a few months ago called Archetype? (Watch it here.) As predicted, the project has been picked up by Hollywood. THR’s Heat Vision is officially reporting that producer John Davis (I, Robot, Eragon, Gulliver’s Travels, Predators), who is “riding high off of the surprise success” of Chronicle, has acquired rights to make Archetype into a feature-length movie with director Aaron Sims, a visual effects industry veteran just now making the leap into directing. He’ll helm from a screenplay being written by Guy Busick & Ryan Murphy (not the Glee one). Archetype, a 7-minute sci-fi short by Aaron Sims, already racked up views on YouTube and started getting buzz surrounding it being the next District 9; partially because of that scene above where the robot is being interrogated.
