Alejandro González Iñárritu to Try His Hand at Comedy with ‘Birdman’
We definitely didn’t see this one coming. If there were two genres of film that I’d guess Alejando González Iñárritu, the Mexican director known for dark movies like Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel, would never make, they would be a comedy and a superhero movie. But THR reports that Inarritu’s next film will be an indie called Birdman which strangely enough loosely fits in both genres. The story, written by Inarritu, Nicolas Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, and Armando Bo, follows a down and out actor who once played an iconic superhero and now is heading to Broadway to reclaim his former fame.
