Bob Berney Restarts Picturehouse, Launching with Metallica Feature

They’re back! First launched in 2005 as a joint venture between New Line & HBO Films, Picturehouse is a small specialty distributor that has gone through a few ups and downs. We covered the news of their demise during the financial collapse in 2008, when they shut down. But everything is back up and running. A press release has confirmed that Berney (who started FilmDistrict and Apparition), after acquiring the trademark & logo from Warner Bros, is relaunching Picturehouse again with Metallica Through The Never as their first release. “We are absolutely thrilled to be back in business under the Picturehouse banner,” said Mr. Berney.
