Christopher Nolan in Talks to Direct Brother’s Sci-Fi Script ‘Interstellar’

Nearly six years ago, director Steven Spielberg was lined up to take on Jonathan Nolan’s sci-fi script Interstellar, a story based in scientific theories by Caltech astrophysicist Kip Thorne that involved time travel, alternative dimensions and more familiar tropes as a group of explorers travel through a wormhole. However, no major progress has been made on that project until now. THR says The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception filmmaker Christopher Nolan is looking at his brother’s screenplay as his next directing gig, and he will also produce the project through his Syncopy banner for both Paramount and Warner Bros. It’s not exactly clear whether Spielberg is still involved in some capacity (especially since his own recent sci-fi project Robopocalypse is now postponed indefinitely), and he could always end up producing the film with Nolan.
