Confirmed: ‘The Killing’ Actor Joel Kinnaman is Officially ‘RoboCop’

Briefly: Towards the end of last month, reports surfaced that “The Killing” star Joel Kinnaman had been offered the lead role in Jose Padilha’s remake of RoboCop at MGM. Now Deadline has word that MGM has closed the deal and Kinnaman will officially take the role that Peter Weller originally played in the 1987 Paul Verhoeven film. Kinnaman currently has a supporting role in Safe House with Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington, but his turn on the aforementioned AMC drama series has really been turning some heads.
