Danny Boyle Wants ‘Trainspotting’ Sequel in 2016 with Original Cast

Since the spring of 2007, there have been rumblings that director Danny Boyle wanted to make Porno, the sequel to his adaptation of Trainspotting, based on Irivine Welsh’s novel of the same name. However, Boyle has taken on other projects like Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours and now Trance this year (watch the red band trailer here) and there’s been no word on the project. However, last fall, we missed word from Boyle saying, “There’s a script, well, an early draft. I’m working with Jonny Lee Miller [who played Sick Boy], and when we get the script ready, I’ll approach the rest of the original cast and see how much it appeals.” Just last week the director had a panel at SXSW, and he updated the progress of adapting Porno.
