Denzel Washington Now Attached as ‘The Equalizer’ in Sony’s Movie

Some great casting news out of nowhere. In the latest Sony Pictures announcement (via ComingSoon) that they are extending its first look deal with production company Escape Artists, it was mentioned that one of the projects they are currently working on is The Equalizer, an adaptation of the 80’s TV series. We’ve heard of the project before, as it had Paul Haggis writing at one point. But the report now mentions that Denzel Washington is attached to star with Richard Wenk (16 Blocks, The Mechanic, Expendables 2) on the script, and Variety has backed it up with confirmed casting that he’s attached.
