Don’t Expect to See a Sequel to ‘The Simpsons Movie’ Anytime Soon

Back in 2007, after years of rumors and anticipation, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie finally headed to the big screen in The Simpsons Movie. Fans mostly enjoyed the film, and even series naysayers like myself found a good amount of entertainment, which made many wonder if there would be a sequel coming down the road. However, if series creator Matt Groening and producer David Silverman have anything to say about it, a sequel is a long, long ways off. Speaking at UCLA’s annual entertainment symposium for a Q&A, Groening talked about the first film saying, “”It took us four years [to make] and it killed us.” Read on!
