First Teaser Poster for J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is Here

Getting anxious to return to the USS Enterprise? Paramount has unveiled the first official teaser poster for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness sequel, which we’ve all been patiently waiting to see any footage or photos from. Don’t go too crazy over this poster though, while it is a dark, gritty design, something about it may look a little familiar. Our friends at SlashFilm point out how similar it is to the silhouette designs for Battleship, The Raid and Battle: LA. Plus, who exactly is that in the futuristic trenchcoat? The Playlist says it’s “Benedict Cumberbatch” as the villain overlooking a ruined London, but are we sure it’s not Captain Kirk? Interesting, but nonetheless exciting, at least they’re starting up real marketing for this sci-fi sequel.
