Ghost House Already Planning the Sequel for Fede Alvarez’s ‘Evil Dead’
The most terrifying remake you’ll ever see. Ghost House Pictures and Screen Gems’ remake of Evil Dead, directed by Fede Alvarez, premiered this weekend at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin to mostly positive reviews (e.g. see Rejects / SlashFilm). Based on all the trailer reactions and good buzz, there’s no question that the studio wants a sequel, and it sounds like they’re already planning one anyway. During the Q&A after the premiere, Fede Alvarez confirmed that he and co-writer Rodo Sayagues have already begun work on the screenplay for Evil Dead 2, with plans for a trilogy in the end like the original Sam Raimi series.
