‘Ghost Rider’ Co-Director Brian Taylor Making a ‘Twisted Metal’ Movie

From Ghost Rider to Twisted Metal. Deadline is reporting that Sony Pictures, seemingly quite happy with the work of Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine on Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, have hired just Brian to write and direct a live action adaptation of the iconic video game Twisted Metal. First debuted in 1995 for PlayStation, the game is now a big franchise with sequels, about a demolition derby that allows ballistic projectiles, machine guns, mines, and other types of weapons on vehicles. It’s basically battle mayhem, which is perfect for Taylor, who loves to have fun with chaos and craziness on screen, including explosions. The report says they’ve “made a preemptive 7-figure deal” on the project with Taylor, and has Avi and Ari Arad producing.
