‘Hustle & Flow’ Director Picks Up ‘Gangster Princess of Beverly Hills’
Director Craig Brewer directed the 2011 remake of Footloose (check out Alex’s interview with him right here), but my favorite project of his so far is 2005’s terrific southern rap drama Hustle & Flow. Brewer directed the underrated Black Snake Moan in ’07 and then jumped to TV, helming an episode of “The Shield” and “Terriers.” But recently he’s been getting back into the feature arena, writing a new Tarzan movie that Harry Potter director David Yates has taken on, and now Deadline reports Brewer has found his own directing gig: an adaptation of a wild true story, Gangster Princess of Beverly Hills.
