Jane Goldman to Write Tim Burton & Robert Downey Jr.’s ‘Pinocchio’
Nearly a year ago, fans of Tim Burton and Robert Downey Jr. had their worlds rocked when it was revealed that the director and actor were talking about collaborating for the first time on a new adaptation of the classic story of Pinocchio. No deals are in ink, but the two have been discussing the project with Warner Bros. on and off for months now. Downey would play Geppetto, the woodcarver who creates a puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy and whose nose grows when he tells a lie. Now THR says the film has a new writer in the form of Jane Goldman, the red-haired fanboy favorite behind familiar projects. This year, Goldman was behind the Daniel Radcliffe horror The Woman in Black, but previously, she collaborated with Matthew Vaughn on X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass and Stardust.
