‘Karate Kid’ Redo Helmer to Direct Lily Collins in ‘Mortal Instruments’

Back in December of 2010, we learned that Priest and now Mirror Mirror star Lily Collins had been tapped to play Clary Fray in adaptation of The City of Bones, the first book in Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series. Now a press release (via Deadline) confirms the news over a year later. However, at the time, Scott Stewart was said to be at the helm of the feature, but Constantin Films and Unique Features have instead locked down The Karate Kid remake director Harald Zwart to direct. Apparently there’s been a lot of speculation and buzz in Hollywood about who would get the gig, but we haven’t heard much of that.
