Must Watch: Official Trailer for Jeff Nichols’ ‘Mud’ with McConaughey

“It’s a hell of a thing, ain’t it…” Yes, finally! One of my favorite films of the Cannes Film Festival last year was filmmaker Jeff Nichols’ follow-up to the excellent Take Shelter, a Mississippi Delta-set drama called Mud starring Matthew McConaughey. It didn’t get enough love at Cannes and was covered up by the foreign films there, but it’s playing at Sundance this week and will be released this year. Young actors Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland also co-star with Reese Witherspoon in this fantastic first official trailer, which includes a brief quote from yours truly (from this review).
