Paramount Wants Brad Pitt & ‘World War Z’ for an Entire Film Trilogy
While the adaptation of Max Brooks’ horror novel World War Z won’t see release until December of this year, apparently Paramount Pictures already sees quite a future for what looks to be the most expensive zombie film ever made. An LA Times article about the film’s star Brad Pitt, a small blurb about director Marc Forster (Finding Neverland, Quantum of Solace) and Paramount pegs the project as a trilogy. The reason this is most interesting is that there’s only one book from Brooks described as an oral history of the zombie war, but with an event like that at the core of the story, it’s not hard to see how it could be expanded. The adaptation could very well only deal with part of the novel, and since it checks in at 432 pages, there’s likely plenty of material for a few movies.
