‘Toy’s House’ Retitled ‘The Kings of Summer’ & Set for June Release

One of the funniest films coming out of Sundance 2013 was a coming-of-age comedy called Toy’s House, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. We caught it late in the fest and fell in love with it as well (my review) and I’m happy to make sure this stay’s on everyone’s mind up until release because it’s definitely worth seeing. Variety is reporting that CBS Films, who acquired the film during Sundance, has set a June 14th summer release date for Toy’s House. But they also retitled it, and it will now be known as The Kings of Summer, which might be fitting as long as the marketing lives up to it. This should be one of the summer’s breakouts. Toy’s House is about three teens who decide to ditch their parents and build a house to live in on their own in the nearby forest.
