‘Trollhunter’ Director Lands Soccer Mom Action Flick ‘Carpe Demon’
With found footage movies like Chronicle and Project X hitting theaters recently, there’s one that might have slipped past your radar – a Norwegian film called Trollhunter. The handheld mockumentary followed a group of kids through the countryside as they hunted trolls, and the film (now on Netflix Instant) had a quiet release last year. That film’s director, Andre Øvredal, has just has a Hollywood project, and he’s staying in the fantasy realm with this one, too. Empire reports he’ll be adapting Julie Kenner’s best-seller Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom and Chris Columbus is producing. Carpe Demon will follow housewife Kate Connor while she keeps her demon-hunting past a secret from her family and deals with a new threat at the same time.
