Wally Pfister’s Sci-Fi ‘Transcendence’ Set for Late April 2014 Release

Briefly: It looks like Warner Bros is moving quick with The Dark Knight cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, Transcendence, starring Johnny Depp. With casting confirmations arriving this week, Deadline is reporting that Transcendence is now set to hit theaters on April 25th, 2014 (in wide release). That’s exactly one week before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in early May 2014, so it seems like they may be trying to move up the opening summer spot. Pfister’s sci-fi Transcendence, set to star Depp and Paul Bettany so far, is about a scientist whose brain is uploaded into his creation – a supercomputer with the potential to think for itself.
