Watch: ‘Side by Side’ Doc Trailer About the Film to Digital Evolution

“There isn’t yet a superior or even an equal imaging technology to film, but we’re being forced to transition.” Perfectly timed for the start of the Sundance Film Festival today is a trailer for a documentary called Side by Side, produced by Keanu Reeves, about the science, art, and impact of digital cinema. This trailer features interview snippets from Chris Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, David Lynch, Robert Rodriguez, James Cameron and Marty Scorsese, all of whom are either making the big digital transition or still holding onto film (like Nolan). It looks like a fascinating doc and something that everyone in this industry needs to watch.
