Whoa – J.J. Abrams is Officially Directing New ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’
Star Wars. And Star Trek. Can one man really tackle both franchises? Apparently Lucasfilm thinks so. Word from The Wrap is that apparently it’s official that J.J. Abrams is directing the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. There aren’t too many other details about the news besides that he is the director they’ve apparently lined up, and I’m guessing with this now leaked, we’ll be hearing official confirmation and a lot more from Lucasfilm, George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy. Here’s the other big detail: Ben Affleck was also in contention, but obviously didn’t get the job. I almost can’t believe he’s actually directing this movie.
