Worth Watching: ‘Close Encounters’-Esque Short Film ‘In The Pines’
“No matter what I do, I can’t deny them… what happened.” Thanks to tipster & reader Ronny, we’ve got another worth watching stellar short called In The Pines to feature. This originally premiered at the SXSW Film Festival this spring and earned some raves then, now it’s online in full for public viewing (via Vimeo). Jessica Martin stars as a young woman who goes on a journey into the forest to make contact with beings she believes she encountered once before. It was described as a “teenage” Close Encounters of the Third Kind and it definitely has that feel, I just wish there was a bit more to this (you’ll see what I mean). Enjoy!
