Abigail Breslin Joins Streep and Roberts in ‘August: Osage County’

After lending their voices to the animated film The Ant Bully in 2006, acclaimed Oscar-winning actresses Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are acting together in a live-action movie now called August: Osage County. It’s a dysfunctional family drama based on Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize winning book and Tony award-winning play, and with Streep and Roberts playing mother and daughter and George Clooney and Grant Heslov producing, more Oscar nominations are sure to come. But the movie has just added some significant talent in the supporting actress category with Abigail Breslin and Juliette Lewis joining. Letts wrote the screenplay, and John Wells (The Company You Keep) is set to direct. The story follows three daughters who return home to be with their drug-addicted mother (Streep) after their alcoholic father disappears, and all sorts of family secrets are revealed.
