Hugh Jackman to Star in Aaron Sorkin’s Houdini Musical

Never one to shy from a spectacle, Jackman has signed up for the 2013 Broadway run of Houdini, which will be, in our favorite phrase of the day, “the librettist debut of Aaron Sorkin.” (Stephen Schwartz, of Godspell and Wicked fame, will write the music.) Does the mind not reel at the thought of a musical libretto written by Aaron “Walk and Talk” Sorkin? It will run for hours, or else Jackman will have to take speed-singing classes and learn to enunciate “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” in double time. While rope-pulling. Schwartz should just license “Flight of the Bumblebee” and call it a day.  Anyway, good luck, Hugh! We’re rooting for you to not pass out mid-performance.
