IMAX Confirms J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek 2’ Will Be Shown in IMAX 3D

It’s a good day for IMAX. On top of news that Francis Lawrence’s Hunger Games: Catching Fire would be partially shot on IMAX, as well as The Dark Knight Rises opening soon, they’ve finally confirmed details on J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek 2. It had been unconfirmed but identified that IMAX cameras were being used to film on set, but no one would say anything – until now. Paramount and IMAX have put out an official press release (via IMAX.com) confirming that Trek 2 will indeed be arriving in IMAX 3D on May 17th, 2013. You read that right – 3D. Wait, really?
