John C. Reilly Was Once Slated to Play Brick Tamland in ‘Anchorman’

Since the release of Anchorman, each of the members of the Channel 4 News Team have had their fame skyrocket, with the exception of maybe David Koechner who is a recognizable, regular character actor but not exactly a superstar. But one member was almost not part of the equation as a recent interview with John C. Reilly from MTV reveals that that Step Brothers and Talladega Nights star was originally slated to play Brick Tamland, the weatherman who has an I.Q. of 48 and is what some people call mentally retarded, brought to life by Steve Carell. But that doesn’t mean that we won’t see the actor in the sequel. As for his part in the first Anchorman, perhaps we ended up seeing Reilly’s take on Brick Tamland after all.
