‘Machinist’ Director Brad Anderson Taking Over New Thriller ‘The Hive’

Since last April, hit-or-miss director Joel Schumacher (who has honestly, missed much more often recently than he’s hit), has been attached to helm the new Troika Pictures thriller The Hive, the story of a 911 operator who must face her own fears in order to save a teenage girl from a serial killer. However, now Variety has word that director Brad Anderson (The Machinist, Transsiberian) will now be at the helm of the feature from Exit Wounds writer Rich D’Ovidio. Anderson has been busy directing TV series like “Boardwalk Empire” and “Fringe following Vanishing on 7th Street in 2010, but now he’s back to films. However, it’s not clear who will step up to take the lead female role along with this new director.
