Nicolas Cage Wants to Do a Sequel to ‘The Wicker Man’ Set in Japan

With the pseudo sequel to 1973’s The Wicker Man the aptly titled The Wicker Tree, now in theaters, Nicolas Cage (who will be seen next month in the absolutely over-the-top comic book sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance from Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine) dropped a gem of an idea he’s got. Cage was recently asked about revisiting characters and surprisingly answered that he would like to make a sequel to the 2006 remake. Cage starred alongside Ellen Burstyn, Leelee Sobieski, a bear suit, and James Franco for three minutes, but for the sequel he wants Hideo Nakata (Ringu) to direct. Oh and Cage would be a ghost.
