Paul Reubens Says New Pee-Wee Herman Movie is Still on the Way

It’s been a long road for Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Movie, the latest big-screen adventure for Paul Reubens’ iconic Pee-wee Herman character. We wrote about this way back in ’09, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard any update on the project, which is being produced by Judd Apatow. Reubens is voicing a character in the new animated series “Tron: Uprising,” and recently told Collider that filming on Pee-wee’s next film is set to begin “any minute, supposedly” and after a “quick little rewrite” on the script, it’s gearing up to start shooting “very soon.” Sounds like good news for fans of the bow-tie wearing goofball.
