Seth MacFarlane Directing ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ Comedy

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a straight-up Western comedy. Blazing Saddles is a classic from decades and City Slickers is over 20 years old (the sequel just three years younger). But now “Family Guy” creator and Ted director and star Seth MacFarlane is ready to saddle up some laughs with A Million Ways to Die in the West. THR says the script comes from Ted co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, who have worked with MacFarlane for years, and while the plot is being kept under wraps, it’s described as a Blazing Saddles style film following just how difficult and dangerous life in the Wild West.
