Uh Oh? Director Patty Jenkins No Longer Directing Marvel’s ‘Thor 2’

Briefly: Some troublesome news from the Marvel world, perhaps? Deadline reports that Patty Jenkins (director of Monster with Charlize Theron), the first female director lined up at Marvel Studios to take on Thor 2, has left the project over “creative differences.” They mention she may eventually “end up working on one of these superhero films, but perhaps not on a sequel.” Interesting. Instead, Marvel is “canvassing” the agencies for a new director, which means back to the drawing board. Yep, they’re already trying to get this into production even though we haven’t even seen The Avengers yet, but it has a late November 2013 release. Chris Hemsworth will be back as Thor. We’ll let you know who they line up to replace Jenkins.
