‘Undercover Brother’ Director Malcolm Lee Will Direct ‘Scary Movie 5’

I honestly thought they were done with this franchise, but it appears that the Scary Movie series is still going strong. Entertainment Weekly reports that director Malcolm Lee, Spike Lee’s cousin, is going to be behind the camera for the next installment of the long-running spoof franchise. Malcolm has directed a few films before, notably Undercover Brother, Roll Bounce, and his most recent effort, 2008’s Soul Men. Lee will write and produce Scary Movie 5 alongside series stalwart David Zucker, and production is slated to being this summer. The sequel already has a January 11th, 2013 release date carved into the calendar. Looks like they’re moving quickly on this one, trying to remain in the public consciousness after the most recent Scream film hit theaters last year.
