‘Wet Hot American Summer’ Sequel Confirmed with Everyone Back!

Last summer we got the potentially exciting news that a follow-up to the 2001 Sundance selected comedy Wet Hot American Summer just might be happening. Though the chances were slim, director David Wain said that it was being developed. Now it sounds like dreams are coming true as Wain’s longtime friend and comedic collaborator Michael Showalter stopped by the Bravo talk show “Watch What Happens Live” (via HuffPo) and when asked whether the sequel would be happening, he simply said, “Absolutely yes. 100% yes. The whole gang. Everyone’s back. We’re doing it.” That’s the best news I’ve heard this year. I’m hoping that Wain touting that, “Everyone’s back,” doesn’t just mean most of the cast. After all, some of the original film’s stars like Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks have gone on to become quite the sought after talents.
